Lack of access to healthcare

Pakistan has been reported to have one of the highest levels of prevalence of child malnutrition compared to other developing counties. According to the National Nutrition Survey, 33% of all children were underweight, nearly 44% were stunted, 15% are wasted, 50%were anemic, and 33%were anemic (iron deficiency). We can say poverty is the reason of all of this but are we really saying this right? Due to lack of proper healthcare awareness among young children they are often caught up in unhealthy activities like smoking and betelnut chewing. They don’t know what’s right for them or what type of grave mistakes they are making by indulging themselves in such unhealthy activities. Their parents don’t know what the right diet for their children is in order to achieve their maximum mental and physical health. The limited availability of oral health care and the high level of unmet oral health care needs are also well documented. The recorded prevalence of dental caries is 50–70% and that of oral cancer is among the highest in the world.

In order to do health promotion we will do outreach programs at schools to explain them the benefits of good diet, how to keep up with good oral hygiene and how to keep themselves away from the diseases. This outreach programs would target young students who are all set to make their mark in world. Proper health awareness is a basic fundamental right for every citizen but unfortunately being a third world country and struggling economy we don’t put much efforts at this side.

Along with health awareness we can do some healthy activity and gaming which will really strengthen children mental strength and make them test their mental ability to solve mathematical problems.

Our main target would be poor underprivileged children who don’t have readily access to medical and dental healthcare facility. We will provide them proper leaflets and will make things easier for them understand.
